Lucent Diagnostics and Tempus AI have formed a strategic partnership to enhance early detection of Alzheimer’s through blood-based biomarker testing, integrating this process into standard clinical workflows.
The collaboration will enable neurologists to order the LucentAD® Complete multi-biomarker blood test directly via the Tempus clinical platform. Utilizing Tempus Next, an AI-driven care pathway intelligence system, the partnership aims to identify patients who may benefit from testing based on established clinical guidelines. Currently, only a small fraction of the 7 million Americans with Alzheimer’s are evaluated for approved therapies, and this initiative seeks to bridge that diagnostic gap.
Powered by Quanterix’s Simoa® technology, the test allows for high-sensitivity detection of biomarkers linked to amyloid-positive patients, offering a non-invasive alternative to traditional diagnostic methods like spinal taps or PET scans. This integration aims to streamline the diagnostic process, enabling neurologists to make timely, informed decisions about treatment eligibility.
This collaboration is significant as it represents a move towards embedding precision diagnostics within everyday clinical practice, reducing administrative burdens on healthcare providers. By facilitating earlier access to potentially life-altering therapies, the partnership not only enhances patient outcomes but also optimizes the clinical value chain, democratizing access to advanced neurological care.
