Flok Health has successfully secured £9.5 million ($12.5 million) in a Series A funding round, aimed at enhancing its AI-driven physiotherapy services.
The innovative clinic operates autonomously, providing comprehensive healthcare pathways without human intervention. Currently, it caters to NHS patients, offering immediate access to back pain consultations via a mobile app, eliminating traditional wait times. The AI system utilizes real footage of physiotherapists to create an interactive experience that mimics live video appointments, responding dynamically to patient inputs.
With the new funding, Flok Health plans to expand its existing back pain services throughout the UK and venture into additional clinical areas. The AI platform is being developed to address other prevalent health concerns, such as hip and knee pain and women's pelvic health, with launches expected within the year.
According to co-founder and CEO Finn Stevenson, this investment represents a significant opportunity to bridge the gap between healthcare supply and demand, ensuring accessible, high-quality care. The funding will facilitate the rapid growth of their AI clinic, enhancing its capabilities and potentially reaching international markets.
