En Carta Diagnostics has successfully raised 5 million euros to enhance its molecular testing capabilities for Lyme disease and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), focusing on both the US and European markets.

The Paris-based startup secured 3 million euros in equity funding led by Blue Forest Ventures, with contributions from Ring Capital and others, alongside an additional 2 million euros in non-dilutive funding from Bpifrance. Founded in 2022, En Carta aims to develop home-based diagnostic tools that deliver results comparable to laboratory PCR tests, leveraging aptamer technology for high specificity in detecting genetic and pathogenic targets.

Recently, the company received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation, which will expedite its entry into the US market. Additionally, En Carta has partnered with AAZ, a French rapid diagnostic firm, to distribute its STI screening solutions across Europe. The new funding will enable the startup to scale operations through a fabless manufacturing model and conduct clinical trials in Boston and Bialystok, focusing on early Lyme disease detection.

This strategic funding and regulatory progress position En Carta Diagnostics to significantly impact the molecular diagnostics landscape, potentially alleviating pressures on healthcare systems by providing quicker and more accessible testing options for patients.
