Century Health has successfully raised $5 million in a seed funding round aimed at enhancing its AI-driven clinical data abstraction platform. This round, led by Origin Ventures, also saw participation from InnovateHealth Ventures, 25madison, and other notable investors.
The funding will facilitate the expansion of partnerships within the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors, as well as the growth of Century Health's specialty provider data network. Central to their offerings is the Century Health Abstraction & Retrieval Model (CHARM), which automates the curation of fragmented clinical data and boasts a 97% accuracy rate compared to clinical expert judgment.
CHARM focuses on structuring unstructured clinical data from various sources, including physician notes and electronic health records, generating datasets ready for research applications. The company has seen significant growth, with its provider network expanding 60-fold in the past year and collaborations with several top pharmaceutical companies.
As demand for proprietary clinical datasets rises, driven by increased investments in AI within the life sciences, Century Health aims to enhance its disease-specific registries and deepen its pharmaceutical collaborations. This funding positions the company to better address the critical need for efficient data infrastructure in healthcare.
