Over 400 stakeholders gathered in Dublin for a significant event focused on digital health innovation, highlighting Ireland's growing role in the healthtech sector.
The event, titled "Scaling Digital Healthtech in Ireland," was organized by four Irish European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) in partnership with the Enterprise Europe Network and Ibec. It centered on the integration of smart devices and AI-driven tools in healthtech, emphasizing both the potential and challenges of scaling these solutions. Key topics included regulatory compliance, cyber resilience, and access to funding and European markets.
Prominent figures from government, industry, and academia shared insights, showcasing innovative case studies and discussing the future of digital health. Minister of State Niamh Smyth underscored the importance of Ireland's digital transformation, announcing a €23 million investment to extend the EDIH Program through 2029, aimed at enhancing digitalization among SMEs and public sector organizations.
With the digital health market projected to grow significantly, the event reflects a broader commitment to establishing Ireland as a global hub for healthtech. The initiative is set to continue with further events later this year, extending its focus to various sectors, including manufacturing and tourism. This ongoing engagement is crucial for fostering collaboration and addressing pressing healthcare challenges.
