Overview

Mass Dynamics develops a unified, web-based software platform for quantitative proteomics analysis. The platform is designed to take proteomics data from processing through to visualization, collaboration, and decision-making, all within a single online workspace. It serves life scientists across a range of roles and institutions, including biologists, clinicians, omics experts, and biomathematicians working in academic, pharmaceutical, and biomedical research settings.

The company was founded by Andrew, Giuseppe, Paula, and Aaron, whose combined backgrounds span large-scale proteomics research, computational biology, biostatistics, software engineering, and product development. Mass Dynamics describes its mission as transforming proteomics data into knowledge, with the goal of helping life scientists focus on generating data and asking scientific questions while the platform handles analysis and interpretation. Customers include Blueprint Medicines, CSL Limited, Envision Sciences, Purdue University's Proteomics Core Facility, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, and researchers at Bio21 and the Griffiths Institute.

Core Platform Capabilities

  • Processes, visualizes, stores, and enables interpretation of large and complex proteomics datasets through an integrated, cloud-based service
  • Eliminates the need for labs to procure hardware, manage infrastructure, or scale compute resources independently
  • Auto-saves all data and settings during analysis sessions
  • Supports discovery of biological biomarkers, investigation of disease mechanisms, identification of drug targets, and detection of changes in protein levels

Quality Control

  • Built-in Quality Control module allows scientists to assess experiment quality across four areas: Experiment Health, Feature Completeness, Sample Preparation, and Identifications
  • Designed to give researchers confidence in their data before proceeding to downstream analysis

Analysis Modules

  • Flexible, built-in modules for generating protein lists, volcano plots, violin plots, and heatmaps
  • Supports over-representation analysis and enrichment analysis with minimal configuration
  • Designed to make data interpretation accessible to scientists without deep bioinformatics expertise

Collaboration Features

  • Multiple team members and external collaborators can work within the same experiment simultaneously
  • Replaces reliance on large spreadsheets and email-based data sharing
  • Covers the full workflow from data processing and analysis through to sharing and collaborative review in one place

Users Served

  • Life Scientists — biologists and clinicians using omics approaches to answer biological questions
  • Omics Experts — researchers who acquire and analyze proteomics data using analytical instrumentation, either for their own work or for collaborators
  • Biomathematicians — specialists applying computational methods and biological expertise to interpret large datasets

Mass Dynamics integrates expertise from computational biology, machine intelligence, biostatistics, analytical chemistry, and software engineering into its platform development. The company positions proteomics as a critical area of medical research relevant to the discovery and development of disease prevention, treatments, and diagnostics.
